About the Artist...

I am delighted to introduce myself to you. My name is Kim Moskowitz and it is likely that I learned to sing before I could talk, began to play guitar at 12 and loved them both. My father grew up on the Yiddish stage and shared his repertoire and passion for singing with our family throughout my childhood. I began to song lead as a young girl and became involved in performing and teaching Jewish music some 18 years ago. I have worked at many synagogues, Jewish camps and festivals throughout the country. My work has contributed strongly to setting myself, my family and extended communities on a continual path of spiritual growth and learning. My personal love affair with Jewish music deepens with each passing year along with the passion and respect I have for Judeo-based values as a way of life. The awesome power of a Jewish melody to link the generations, touch the depths of the soul and evoke a memory that moves its listener to connect with their own identity as well as the amazing people I have met on this journey will forever keep me singing and involved in this wonderful world.  I served as Judaic Music Educator and Cantorial Soloist at Temple Etz Chaim in Thousand Oaks, California for the nine years where I found much success and fulfillment teaching and performing Jewish music, establishing and participating in innovative, creative family programming, conducting and accompanying a Children’s Youth Chorale, Women’s Rosh Chodesh Celebrations and Shabbat and Festival Services. I have also served as a part time cantor for a Reform congregation in Murrieta, California where we integrated traditional and innovative programming to create warm and welcoming spiritual services and celebrations for all ages. My husband (of 26 years) and I, after raising our three children in Agoura Hills, California and have moved to the Pacific Northwest and love it here! Come and visit us at Temple Beth Israel in Bellingham, Washington if you should find yourself in this neck of the woods!
